A growing science & technology talent base
The institutions and companies in the greater Lodi region are staffed by a growing science and technology talent base of more than 6,580 workers. In 2017, ten college and university campuses graduated over 7,400 students to continually fill the talent pipeline.

Code Stack Academy is the region’s first immersive and accelerated code school offered by the San Joaquin County Office of Education. As a non-profit, Code Stack’s tuition is a fraction of the cost to comparable for-profit code schools, and the only objective is to foster a flourishing community of skilled software engineers in our area, ready to meet the demand of employers, and ultimately change the landscape for technology in Stockton and the greater San Joaquin County. The largest, immersive coding school in California, the academy only graduates the best and most talented software coders.
San Joaquin Delta College, in partnership with Cisco Systems, Inc., offers degrees and certificates in Computer Networks, Networks Security, Electrical and Diesel Technology, Computer Information Systems and Computer Web Development. Other program options include, Electron Microscopy, Engineering, Machine Technology, Robotics and Automation Technology and Welding Technology. In 2018, San Joaquin Delta College awarded 381 degrees in these fields.
The College of the Pacific has created a state-of-the-art Engineering and Computer Science graduate program and undergraduate major. Majors specialize in Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Management. In 2019, 900 students were enrolled in the School of Engineering and Computer Science.
The North Central Valley STEM Center is a regional collaborative partnership involving the University of the Pacific, San Joaquin Delta College, Modesto Junior College, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and National Security Technologies dedicated to ensuring students are career and college ready and prepared for the technological demands of the 21st century.
Innovation Hub (iHUB) San Joaquin is one of California’s newest innovation hubs around the state that links technology leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, and educational institutions. Their mission is to help people dedicated to innovative and emerging technologies and invigorating the region’s economy as a center for sustainable technologies in primarily three areas: Health Care, Agri-Business, and Sustainable Construction Technology. Events, educational seminars and mentorship opportunities aimed at attracting and preparing a talent pipeline are priorities.
The TDL Partnership, a Delta College Initiative, serves as a workforce intermediary to strengthen the talent pipeline for skilled commercial drivers and other transportation, distribution and logistics trades. The partnership of Delta College, Adult Education Academies, and two local unified school districts work with local employers to receive on-the-job training and classroom preparation to excel in this industry which leads to family sustaining wages.
